Easy Orchid Flower - Phalaenopsis Miva Golden ‘Majestic’

I define “easy” orchids as those that can be grown indoors in mild climates in homes that have the heating on during the daytime in winter.

This new, French-bred hybrid raised in 1991 derives its name from its parents - P. Golden Horizon, the yellow parent and P. Miva Smartissimo, the pink parent. It is a delightful flower, showing the rich color and overall veining and spotting that is characteristic of this type. ‘Majestic’ is a robust plant, without pseudobulbs, which will bloom two to three times a year in any season. Six to seven flowers lasting six to eight weeks are carried on an arching spike well above the foliage. Cut down the flower spike to a lower node after flowering and a second spike will then grow to give more flowers.
