Easy Orchids - Cymbidium Cherry Blossom ‘Perfection’

I define “easy” orchids as those that can be grown indoors in mild climates in homes that have the heating on during the daytime in winter.

This is a true miniature, which produces numerous flowers lasting up to five weeks on drooping flower spikes during the fall. It is a primary hybrid between C. erythrostylum from Vietnam and C. floribundum (syn. C. pumilum) from Japan. Bred in the United States in 1963, ‘Perfection’ adds a valuable dimension to the variety of midwinter flowering clones. The plant is compact with small, rounded pseudobulbs and short leaves. The unique shape of the forward-thrusting petals, are a trait derived from C. erythrostylum.
