Fairly Easy Orchids - Miltoniopsis Herralexandre

I define “fairly easy” orchids as those that, while suitable for a beginner, may not be quite as tolerant of less than ideal conditions as the “easy” orchids.

This is a very find modern hybrid, bred in the United States adn registered in 1992. It combines the best of flower shape and color, and comes from a long line of similar, successful hybrids - its parents are M. Alexandre and M. Herrenhausen. Grow the plant in cool to intermediate temperatures in a shady position, and keep it moist. The fragrant blooms; which appear at any time during the spring and early summer, last for up to five weeks. During the fall months, a second flowering will often provide you with more blooms as a reminder of what is to come the following year. Each spike carries from one to three large, flat, pansy-shaped blooms.

Flower Size: 4 inches (10cm) across

Flower Spike: 1 foot (30cm)

Plant Height: 10 inches (25cm)

Pot Size: 4 inches (10cm)
