In this article I’ve come up with the top ten tell-tale signs that your orchid may be unhealthy.
Ten Signs of an Unhealthy Orchid
- No roots!
- Your orchid plant has developed brown edges on its leaves.
- A little plant on top of the flower stem (keiki).
- The roots have turned from white/thick/grey to shriveled.
- You may notice that over time your orchid has shrunk.
- There hasn’t been a bloom in over a year.
- You’ve developed a large plant, but none or few flowers or spikes.
- The leaves appear to be very dark green.
- Your orchids’ leaves appear to be sun-damaged; yellow, calloused in the middle of the leaves.
- When you notice that your pot seems to be to large for your orchid.
