Blooming, Care and Culture, Classification, Growing Indoors

I define “easy” orchids as those that can be grown indoors in mild climates in homes that have the heating on during the daytime in winter.

An embellished variation raised in Britain in 1931 on the more usual V. Cambria clone, this delicately patterned form has much to comment it. It comes from one of the most popular hybrids of all time and is renowned for its ease of culture and ability to grow and flower under a range of conditions, although it does best on a cool windowsill out of direct sun. This is a complex hybrid with Odontoglossum, Cochlioda, and Miltonia all involved. It is a strong grower with a neat habit, similar to an Odontoglossum. It will bloom freely at almost any time of the year with six to twelve flowers per spike lasting five or six weeks. This is one orchid with which you cannot go far wrong.
